Care & Share--Our Inreach Program

Our UU congregation is launching an expansion for applying our natural sense of caring into a more active and interactive program of congregational INREACH.

The Care & Share Team is a way of:

  • Providing vital services—pastoral visiting, phoning, transportation, food, tasks, skills, etc.--to each other.
  • Showing members, visitors, and our community that UU's are inclusive in many different ways.
  • Fulfilling the UU Principles we value so highly.

You may join us as a regular or occasional member. All types of help are welcome. Committees include those listed above, as well as providing community resource information, advice about technical, household, everyday activities, lending a helping hand in as many ways as needed.

The main purpose of the Team actions is to increase caring interactions with each other and to help each other in times of need. This is a major commitment of our church. Would any of us want to think that, if we could not be active in church activities, even temporarily, we would be forgotten or ignored?

We have a great core of team members, but we are still seeking additional people who could contribute 2-3 hours per month. Please join us for the next meeting, November 15, after Sunday service to hear about all the action we have taken thus far. Lunch provided. Contact Alice Lizee, chair.care, to reserve a place.

Remember to sign up for, or join the CARE & SHARE TEAM meeting for November 15, after Sunday Service and reserve your lunch with Alice Lizee. We need only a little effort on your part in exchange for a great deal of satisfaction. You will enjoy our group and come to believe, as we do, that ours is very significant work.

Contact Alice Lizee at Write chair.care for more information or to learn how you can help.

Some ways to help:

  • Run an errand
  • Provide transportation to church, appointment, grocery store:
  • Make a meal
  • Share expertise or skill, perform a task, etc.
