alice evans will be speaking on the guidance that sustainable agriculture has to offer –  even the brown-thumbs among us – as a framework for understanding and nurturing strong, healthy communities.

Bio -alice evans was born and raised in Huntsville, and is not from a farming family, but perhaps has a country soul. Since early 2013 she has been the director of the Alabama Sustainable Agriculture Network, a grassroots nonprofit network of small-scale sustainable farms and others who support clean local food in Alabama (more at asanonline.org). She is also involved in activism outside of her paid work, including movements for immigrant justice, racial justice, and queer liberation. She lives in Birmingham with her partner Lisa Moyer and their assortment of furbabies and plantbabies.
