Weddings and Special Events

Planning a wedding or commitment service in Birmingham Alabama? An anniversary, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah or other special event? Let us help you create a special service at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham. We are also available for christenings, child dedications, funerals and memorial services.

Our ministers, musicians, administrator and event hosts will do their best to make your service a memorable event. Our flower committee can consult with you about wedding flowers and may be able to provide flower arrangements for other events, as well.

Our new church, built just three years ago, is perched on the side of Red Mountain on 12 wooded acres with a beautiful view. The building is wheelchair-accessible with a spacious sanctuary that seats up to 300 guests. Ample on-site parking is available. Or choose our Memory Garden for a smaller garden wedding or other outdoor service for up to 75.

Appropriate music may be provided by our musicians, who will help you coordinate soloists and instrumentalists to fit your requirements. Our kitchen and narthex provide an intimate space to prepare and enjoy the reception.

Perhaps you have already selected your site. If you'd like to engage an officiant, please do contact us for details and fees.

Unitarian Universalist congregations and ministers are religiously liberal and are available to perform services for mixed-faith couples or couples who prefer non-theological language. Because we believe in marriage equality, we cherish and respect all unions based on love and welcome same-gender weddings and commitment ceremonies. We give all couples the same attention and will support you in crafting a service which will reflect your personal values.

Please email our church administrator at office@uucbham.org or call 205-945-8109 for further information, schedule availability, fees, or to plan an on-site visit.

A good way to check out our location, sanctuary, or Memory Garden is to visit us for worship on Sundays at 10:30 AM. A coffee hour is held after the worship service.

Write weddings@uucbham.org for more information, or call 205-945-8109.

We're located on the Homewood side of Red Mountain in Birmingham, founded 1950.

Visit our Diane and Mark's site for more photographs from their wedding at our church.
